2020 Kia Sportage vs 2019 Kia Sportage

Serving Lancaster, MA

Since they are both quality vehicles, you can’t go wrong with the 2020 or the 2019 Kia Sportage. The 2020 Sportage gets a few more updates and changes than the 2019 version, making it more appealing to consumers wanting the latest and greatest. Change is apparent at first glance with the 2020 Kia Sportage, which features revised styling on both ends. Safety is even more of a priority in the latest Sportage than before with more standard safety amenities. In 2020, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now standard. Power and handling, in contrast, remain the same as they were in the 2019 model. Both model years stand out for an exceptionally smooth ride quality, spacious seats, and a comfortable interior with an attractive dashboard design.

The 2020 and 2019 Kia Sportage have identical power and handling. The base engine on both model years is a 2.4L with four cylinders that produces up to 181 HP at 6,000 RPM. The second engine is a 2.0L with four cylinders. This engine has a peak power capacity of 237 HP at 6,000 RPM with the all-wheel drive configuration. Its power output rises slightly to 240 HP at 6,000 RPM with front-wheel drive. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

With styling changes on both ends, it is easy to distinguish the 2020 Kia Sportage from the 2019 Sportage. The 2020 Sportage features a glossy black front grille with chrome accents. It also has a redesigned front fascia this year. The door handles are body-colored and power-adjustable. A rear spoiler gives the SUV a sporty look. Roof rails, which are standard on some trim levels and available on others, adds to its sporty look. A power-operated lift gate, projector-beam headlights, and LED daytime running lights are other features that add to the Sportage appeal. The base trim has 17-inch wheels, while 18-inch wheels and 19-inch wheels are standard on the higher trim levels. Many of the same features, such as a rear spoiler, power-adjustable mirrors, and roof rails, are found on the 2019 Sportage as well.

Inside, the cabins of the 2020 and the 2019 Kia Sportage are spacious, tech-savvy, and well-equipped. The 2020 Sportage gets a standard eight-inch infotainment display screen with Bluetooth and voice recognition, even at the base level. It also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The infotainment system on the top trim is the same size, but it also has integrated navigation. The lower three trim levels have a six-speaker sound system, while the top trim gets an eight-speaker sound system. Multiple USB charging ports and 12V power outlets are notable interior features of the 2020 Sportage. Multi-way adjustable leather and leatherette seats are standard on the top trims. The 2019 Sportage has many of the same amenities, but it has a standard seven-inch infotainment screen on the base trim. You’ll find an abundance of safety amenities on the Kia Sportage, too.
