If you’re looking to leave gasoline power behind and upgrade your Leominster commute with a new electric vehicle, look no further than the 2022 Kia EV6! The EV6 is the first-ever electric car from Kia, and is the first in a brand-new lineup of eleven upcoming EVs to be rolled out by 2026. The Kia EV6 is a compact crossover SUV, meaning it has a spacious interior cabin and powerful performance specs while still being easy to navigate around tight corners and into narrow parking spots.
What is the range of the Kia EV6? This fully-electric SUV tops out at an impressive 310 miles on a full charge thanks to a powerful 77.4-kWh battery (note that this is for all-wheel drive models—rear-wheel drive models have a 58.0-kWh battery). Charging the Kia EV6 is easy, whether you’re at home or on the go, and the battery can get from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes when hooked up to a DC fast charger! The team at Ron Bouchard Kia has all the details on the Kia EV6 range, performance specs, and charge time in the guide below. Check it out, then head to our inventory to see what models we have available!
The Kia EV6 comes in three configurations: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. The entry-level Light trim is offered in rear-wheel drive, while the Wind and GT-Line trims give you the option of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for maximum traction on the Fitchburg roads. The Kia EV6 rear-wheel drive models are equipped with a 58.0-kWh battery that has a driving range of 232 miles, while the all-wheel drive models have a larger 77.4-kWh battery and the maximum range of 310 miles. The EV6 also has an impressive towing capacity of 2,300 pounds, meaning you can easily haul over a ton of cargo behind your SUV if you want! Here are the full performance specs:
When charging your Kia EV6, you have three options: Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 charging. Level 1 and 2 can be done from home, while Level 3 needs to be done at a public charging station. Every Kia EV6 comes with a Level 1 charger, which can be plugged into any three-prong outlet around your home to charge your EV. While this is the most convenient form of charging, it’s also the slowest, and often takes multiple days to get the battery up to full capacity. Level 2 charging is the most common type used by EV drivers at home, and needs to be professionally installed by an electrician. Using Level 2 charging, the EV6 can typically get back up to full charge in a matter of hours—you can plug it in before going to bed and have it ready for your commute the next morning. Level 3 charging, also called DC fast charging, is by far the fastest type of charging, and can be done at a public charging station. As we discussed above, a Level 3 charger can get your EV6 from 10% to 80% in under 20 minutes!
